Werrexes are Askamaran predators with leathery wings and horned heads. They are about the size of eagles, and devour creatures such as adagrias and paguras. Some of the more blood-thirsty Ankaykari keep them as pets just as humans keep falcons.

Werrexes like to eat fresh meat, circling high over Askamar’s mountains, forests and valleys, then swooping down to kill their prey. However, they also consume carrion upon occasion. Wild werrexes live in pairs, fiercely defending their territory from intruders.
